Returns & Refund Policy
Our Promise At Bee Honey Ltd, we take great pride in the quality of our honey. We want you to be completely happy with your purchase. However, if you need to return an item, please review our policy below.
1. Returns (Change of Mind)
Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods.
-
Condition of Return: To be eligible for a refund, your honey must be unopened, with the safety seal fully intact, and in the same condition that you received it. Due to health and safety regulations, we strictly cannot accept returns of opened food products unless they are faulty.
-
Return Postage Costs: If you are returning an item because you have changed your mind, you are responsible for the cost of returning the item to us. We do not provide free return labels for change-of-mind returns.
-
Original Postage Refund: If you return your full order, we will refund the cost of the items plus the standard delivery cost you paid to receive them. We do not refund the cost of premium services (such as Next Day Delivery) if you chose to upgrade.
2. Damaged or Faulty Items
We pack our jars with secure, shock-absorbent packaging, but accidents can happen in the post.
-
If your honey arrives broken: For safety reasons, please do not post broken glass back to us. Instead, please email a clear photo of the damaged packaging and jar to info@bhoney.co.uk within 48 hours of delivery. We will issue a full refund or send a replacement immediately.
-
Natural Crystallisation: Please note that pure, raw honey may crystallise (become solid or cloudy) over time. This is a completely natural process and a sign of high-quality, unheated honey. This is not a fault, and returns will not be accepted on the basis of crystallisation. You can gently warm the jar in warm water to return it to a liquid state.
3. How to Return an Item
Please contact us at info@bhoney.co.uk before sending any items back so we know to expect your package.
Return Address: Bee Honey Ltd 60 Marls Road Botley Southampton SO30 2NZ
Important: You are responsible for the item until it reaches us. Since glass is fragile, please ensure it is packaged securely. We strongly recommend using a tracked delivery service (such as Evri or Royal Mail Tracked), as we cannot refund items that are lost or damaged on their way back to us.
4. Refunds
Once we receive your return and inspect that the seal is intact, we will send you an email to notify you.
-
If approved, your refund will be processed immediately.
-
A credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment within 5–10 working days, depending on your bank's processing times.

About Our Honey
Is your honey raw and unpasteurised?
Yes! We believe honey should be enjoyed exactly as the bees intended. All our honey is raw, unpasteurised, and unblended. This means we never heat it to high temperatures, which preserves the natural enzymes, pollen, and distinct flavours that are often lost in mass-produced supermarket honey.
Why should I buy honey that isn't local to me?
We love local honey, but limiting yourself to just one area means missing out on incredible flavours! Think of honey like wine or coffee—the taste depends entirely on the flowers and climate of the region. Our honey from the Czech Republic or New Zealand comes from pristine environments with unique wildflowers that don't grow in the UK. By trying honey from different regions, you get to explore a whole new world of tastes and textures that are just as pure and high-quality as local English honey.
Do I need local honey to help with Hay Fever?
This is a very common belief! While many people swear by using local honey to build immunity to pollen, there is actually no scientific proof that honey must be local to help with allergies. Most experts agree that the main health benefits come from honey being raw and unpasteurised (containing natural pollen and enzymes), regardless of which country it comes from. Because all our honey is 100% raw, you get all the natural goodness in every jar, whether it’s from Southampton or the Czech forests
Why has my honey become solid or cloudy?
This is called crystallisation, and it is completely natural! In fact, it is a sign that your honey is high-quality and unheated. Over time, the natural sugars in raw honey can form crystals. If you prefer runny honey, simply place the jar in a bowl of warm water (not boiling) and stir gently until it turns liquid again.
Where does your honey come from?
We are proud to offer a diverse range of single-origin honeys. We started by bringing the authentic flavours of the Czech Republic to the UK, but we now source exceptional honey from around the world—including local English honey, Sidr honey, and Manuka from New Zealand. We work directly with traceable farms to ensure every jar meets our high standards.
Do you add sugar or syrup to your honey?
Absolutely not. Our honey is 100% pure honey with nothing added and nothing taken away.
Delivery & Orders
How long does delivery take?
We ship nationwide using Evri for both Standard and Express deliveries. Should Evri be unable to service your specific address, we will automatically fulfill your order using an alternative carrier, such as DPD, Parcelforce, or Royal Mail, to ensure your package arrives safely.
Standard Delivery: 3–5 working days.
Next Day Delivery: 1-2 working days (if ordered before 6 pm).
Local Delivery: If you are located within a 2-mile radius of our trading address (SO30 2NZ), we aim to deliver your order personally within 0–2 days.
Do you offer "Click and Collect"?
Currently, we operate primarily as an online store with local delivery options. However, you can often find us at local markets! Follow us on Facebook or Instagram to see where we will be popping up next.
My honey arrived broken. What should I do?
We pack our jars very carefully, but glass can occasionally break in transit. Please do not send the broken glass back to us. Just email a photo of the damage to info@bhoney.co.uk within 48 hours, and we will send a replacement or issue a refund immediately. You can visit our return policy
Storage & Health
How should I store my honey?
Honey doesn't need to be kept in the fridge! In fact, the fridge will make it crystallise faster. Store your jar in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight (like a kitchen cupboard) and keep the lid tight.
Does honey have an expiry date?
Technically, pure honey never "goes off" if stored correctly—archaeologists have even found edible honey in ancient Egyptian tombs! However, for the best flavour and quality, we recommend consuming it within the "Best Before" date printed on the jar (usually 2 years).
Is honey suitable for children?
Honey is a wonderful natural treat, but it is not suitable for infants under 12 months old. This is because their digestive systems are not yet developed enough to handle certain natural bacteria found in raw honey. It is perfectly safe for children over 1 year old.
Is raw honey safe to eat during pregnancy?
Yes, absolutely. It is a common myth that pregnant women must avoid raw honey. The advice to avoid "unpasteurised" foods usually applies to dairy (like soft cheese or milk), but honey is different. The specific risk in raw honey (botulism spores) is dangerous only for infants under 12 months because their digestive systems are immature. The digestive system of a healthy adult, including pregnant women, is strong enough to handle these natural spores safely. However, if you have any specific health concerns or gestational diabetes, we always recommend consulting your doctor or midwife.
Is your honey suitable for allergy sufferers?
Our honey is unblended and raw, which means it naturally contains traces of pollen. If you have a severe pollen allergy, please consult your doctor before consuming raw honey.
